MacOS setup guide

Sudo is not necessary anywhere!

Only Apple Silicon is supportedsupported.

This build is intended for Apple Silicon Macs only, for example M1, M2, M3, M4 and newer.

Intel Macs are not supported.


Start VRSX on macOS

  1. Download the osx-arm64.zip package from releasesreleases.

  2. macOS may automatically unzip thisthe zipfile file,after sodownload.

    If it does, move the extracted osx-arm64 todirectory any directoryanywhere you wantwant.

    If it does not, unzip it manually first.

  3. Using Finder

    Open (or any other file manager, but Finder is preferred), enterthe osx-arm64 directory,directory in Finder and make sure you can seesee:

    VRSX.App
    and
    then,
  4. right-click
  5. on

    Open Terminal in the osx-arm64 directory.

    The easiest way:

    • open the osx-arm64 folder in theFinder
    • path
    • right-click bar at the bottom orinside the folder
    • itself
    • choose in“New Terminal at Folder”

    If you do not see that option, open Terminal manually and use cd to enter the parentosx-arm64 view"directory.

  6. Disable Gatekeeper

    Remove usingthe commandmacOS quarantine flag from the app:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ./VRSX.App
    

    This does not disable Gatekeeper globally. It only tells macOS to stop treating this specific app as a suspicious creature freshly dragged in from the internet swamp.

  7. Open theVRSX.

    app

    Using byFinder:

    double-clicking on
    Double-click VRSX.App
    in
    Finder or

    Or using commandTerminal:

    open ./VRSX.App/App
    
  8. NOTE: There

    Known is a bug (I love Apple including fruits, but hate for this!) and there won't be anyissue: VRSX may not show an icon in the dockDock or topmenu barbar.

    I it'slove Apple, including the edible ones, but not this particular behavior.

    For now, VRSX behaves mostly working like a background daemon. To killstop VRSX,it, yourun:

    need to execute command
    killall VRSX
    
  9. THat's all!

    Open EnterVRSX in your browser:

    You othercan also use the IP address of your mac)Mac andfrom activateanother device on the same network:

  10. Activate VRSX -using licencethe license key isavailable presentunder inthe "MY“My Account"Account” section in ADS-B.Pro RadarViewRadarView.

IfFor younow, wantthe VRSsimplest Xway to start automatically,VRSX justautomatically is to add VRSX.Appit to your Login ItemsItems.

This is not a full daemon service, but it worksshould be enough for 99%most ofdesktop users!users.
